That is what I found in these English Countryside Dishes from Mikasa. They are light in weight - like fine china, but sturdy enough for everyday use. The white on white pattern is very classic. The service through Amazon was wonderful and my dishes arrived promptly without any damage. I am very satisfied with these dishes and would recommend them to anyone wanting something a little dresser than the "heavy" stoneware dishes that are so predominate. Too heavy, too much work--so I went on Ebay and found someone selling just plates. <br />I ordered two sets-so I have plenty now for even a crowd! This pattern has pretty flower, fruit, and lattice designs on the rim. The only negative is that the dinner plates are so large, they don't fit in the dishwasher. I have to put them along the edge of the basket so that the spray arm doesn't hit them. Rating: 4 / 5 I was looking for an all-white set of dishes but not the plain restaurant kind.
