Mikasa Italian Countryside 5-Piece Place Setting, Service for 1
Last year, I purchesed the Mikasa – Italian Countryside, Service for 8. They are so beautiful, and I love their quality, that I just ordered an additional – Four 5 piece place settings to allow me to have service for 12. These dishes are so versatile, that they can easily be used for either formal or casual dinners. This is filed under casual dinnerware, but I feel as though I can pull this out for a semi-formal dinner with a few friends and have a very well-set table. Moreso than the French and English countryside, the Italian countryside style isn’t too floral or busy… the design is simple and, well, Italian… think of the classic beauty in a Roman column. The just-off white color is warm-looking, for a less stark place setting, and matches nearly every decor… unless it’s completely white, in which case you probably don’t want to eat much on your table. Do I recommend this? Yes. For young singles or couples who don’t want the expense of owning two sets of dishes, this is a great set to start your household with.
